Addiction & Recovery Research Institute

About Us

ARRI (Addiction & Recovery Research Institute) exists to translate neuroscience, trauma-informed care, and ethical clinical practice into real-world recovery. Our focus is on understanding addiction as a brain-based disease influenced by trauma, environment, relationships, and behavior — and then designing care that addresses the whole person (mind, body, and spirit), not just symptoms. We emphasize long-term recovery, relapse vulnerability education, nervous system regulation, and sustainable lifestyle change grounded in evidence, not trends.

"I’m in recovery myself, and I’ve lived firsthand how addiction interacts with brain health, trauma, and environment. I’ve also experienced how negative environments can quietly reinforce relapse risk and emotional dysregulation even when motivation is strong. That lived experience, combined with clinical training and neuroscience focus, puts me in a unique position to connect with our people and to communicate hope." - Christopher Blevins
